What to Expect

A newborn session is one of the greatest photo sessions you will have, but can be one of the most stressful. It is wonderful, when it is over and you have beautiful photos of your newborn. They grow so fast in those first weeks, it is hard to believe. To see how tiny their little fingers and toes were. The session itself can be a little stressful for the parents though because newborns are newborns. You are in the beginning stages of knowing what your baby wants and needs. You can guarantee, in the time I am there for the newborn shoot the baby will eat, burp, sleep, cry and maybe smile and open his eyes. I have two children and remember this time well. I am prepared for the unexpected that comes with the newborn shoot. I tell my clients to relax as much as they can and to let the baby be a baby. I will do the rest.

The photos from a newborn shoot are really about showing ratio, the size of the newborn compared to the parents. The newborn photos show the baby being a newborn.I will capture the essence of the newborn. The tiny hands and feet, the innocence of the newborn. There will not usually be a lot of photos of the baby smiling and laughing, that is not what newborns do. It's ok if your newborn sleeps for most of  the shoot, that is what they do. When they are older, then you get the big smiles and laughter on film. I recommend to do a true newborn shoot in the first 3 weeks of the babies birth.

You can do a photo shoot anytime, what type of photos you get will depend on their age. Once they are sitting up, it is very easy to get smiles from them and they are not too mobile. I recommend this, if you want smiles and to really see their personality. This is a great time for a baby portrait session. A non refundable deposit of $100.00 will hold your time slot.

The balance should be paid the day of the shoot. We accept cash or personal check.
